Notes: For the prompt "Code Geass, Lelouch/Suzaku: Gun play - "You're only fooling yourself"" over at springkink. Set during the "missing month" in R2 episode 21. *headdesk* Double-mine, I hope I never have to write these two ever again. XD;;;
The former prince paused as he walked along the narrow hallway. He had made sure to stop just beyond one of the dim, overhead lights. As if using the halo to help hide him. "What is it?"
Suzaku strode forward, shiny black boots rattling on the grated floor, until he stood a hand's reach from the other's back. Lelouch didn't move. "Before the requiem, are you going to do something about... this?"
"'This'?" he echoed, turning slightly. The light above Suzaku's head made his face hard to see. "What is 'this'?"
The former knight balled his hands into fists and implanted one firmly in the wall beside him. "This," he growled. "The curse you forced on me."
Lelouch turned, folding long limbs over his chest. Black bangs fell into his eyes, and Suzaku wondered if, today, he'd left one contact in. Or had taken them both out. "The fact you care would imply it is still useful."
Green eyes narrowed as he felt the anger cooling, freezing, settling into his stomach as it always did. His hand hurt. Unimportant detail. "So you say, Your Highness."
The frown pulled across Lelouch's face like a gash. Then he turned, tail coat flaring out behind him. "What would you do, Suzaku, if I had Jeremiah remove it?"
Suzaku pulled his hand back from the wall. "I committed to this, Lelouch," he snapped.
His fingers wouldn't move. Maybe a good thing, because all he could imagine right now was wrapping all ten of them around that thin neck and snapping it like a twig. "You have something to say?"
Lelouch paused again; again didn't turn. "Not especially." Suzaku heard a dry laugh. "I have your commitment, what more needs to be said?"
Suzaku took one step, then another, and grabbed the former prince with his good hand. Lelouch spun around at the touch and pointed a gun at Suzaku's head. The knight dropped his hand immediately, dropping into a defensive stance. The gun moved slightly, pointing at his right shoulder.
"You never did know when to let something go, Suzaku." Lelouch's voice cut surer than any knife or sword. He stepped closer, and Suzaku refused to move a muscle. He could feel it, the geass, trying to exert control. This was nothing. This was Lelouch, who got other people to do his dirty work for him.
Suzaku gritted his teeth and stared straight into the other's eyes as the muzzle of the gun pressed against his shoulder. He kept staring, when a gloved hand wrapped around his chin and forced his head to tilt back. Lelouch's smile was no more attractive than the frown had been. "I won't do anything about 'this'," Lelouch whispered. The gun rose and the edge of the muzzle pressed just below his eye socket. Suzaku nearly stopped breathing.
Lelouch stepped close and pressed his thumb against Suzaku's lips. The knight fell silent, seething. The former prince's breath drifted warm over his cheek. "You deserve to live, Suzaku." Green eyes slid closed as a stab of pain in his heart furrowed his brows. He heard a soft chuckle; the gun slid along the line of his jaw. "We're both going to get what we deserve."
Lelouch skimmed his fingers over Suzaku's bottom lip as the knight mouthed a name. Spoke another. "Lelouch."
The prince let his hand fall away, and brought the muzzle of the gun firmly against his pulse point. For the second time in less than as many minutes, Suzaku felt his lungs try to fail him. He tried to swallow and felt the edge dig in harder. He felt vaguely horrified as a shudder passed down his back. When he opened his eyes, he caught an unusual look in Lelouch's eyes. One he had only seen once, back before he'd known what it meant. At Shirley's father's funeral.
Lelouch was in over his goddamned head.
Suzaku's heart thudded in his chest. Then his lips curled into a horrible, unpleasant sneer. "Euphie was your fault." He fisted his good hand into the prince's shirt. "Mock me all you want, I'm not going to forget it."
They both knew which one of them was physically stronger. It had been proved time and again, and it was a major part of their upcoming plan. But still, when Lelouch shoved Suzaku up against the wall, the knight allowed it. Angry violet eyes bored into his own and Suzaku felt a thrill of fear as he wondered if Lelouch would say the same words to him as he planned to use on his siblings: obey me. Suzaku kept his gaze locked on him, despite the threat. Lelouch jabbed the gun into his side and the knight winced. "You think you can manipulate me?" he hissed through clenched teeth. "You're only fooling yourself."
"You could always shut me up, Your Highness."
Lelouch curled a hand into his hair and yanked his head back. Suzaku strained to keep looking at him. "You are more than a mere tool, idiot," he growled. "You will be my sword."
Suzaku choked on his breath as the gun dragged over his hip. A feeling shot through him so intense, he was forced to squeeze his eyes closed for a moment. "A sword... is only so effective as its wielder." Another gasp, another shudder; the ridge of cold metal pressed into the apex of his hip. His hips bucked upward despite himself, and Lelouch's hand tightened in his hair. Suzaku forced his eyes open, staring out at his... whatever the hell Lelouch was... through narrow slits.
"No one will ever wield you as I will." The soft promise left Lelouch's lips on a gentle, almost loving tone. Lelouch slid the gun alongside the bulge in Suzaku's pants, releasing his hair as the knight's back arched sharply. He gently cupped the back of Suzaku's head and encouraged the motion of the knight's hips. "You will be magnificent, Suzaku."
Suzaku moaned, feeling the sound deep in his chest. He wrapped his good hand around Lelouch's throat, fingers digging into the back of his neck, and pulled him in for a kiss. Anything to quiet those words. Neutralize the threat. Lelouch hardly needed the geass power to force his will on others. Lelouch breathed out slowly against Suzaku's mouth, and Suzaku felt him swallow to test the grip. The knight heard a near-silent shudder of air come from the prince and Lelouch leaned closer. Suzaku could smell the sweat on the other's skin, over the scent of the disgustingly pink generic soap they both had been forced to use while in hiding. Suzaku let out a harsh breath as he closed his teeth on Lelouch's bottom lip and flexed his fingers but did not tighten his grip.
"Still trying, Suzaku?" Lelouch murmured against his mouth. The prince's fingers traced the ridge of his spine through his shirt, coaxing his back into an arch that rubbed his erection against the gun. "You never did learn very quickly."
The fingers slipped past his belt and the palm pressed against the small of his back. Suzaku groaned. "Shut up, Lelouch."
Their kiss hurt; lips cut on teeth, pressing Suzaku's head hard against the wall. Neither of them particularly cared. Lelouch's gloved fingertips dragged over Suzaku's hole as the knight frotted himself against the unyielding metal of the gun pressed hard against his hip. Every stroke against the puckered opening, every grind upward, every thrust of the prince's tongue into his mouth brought Suzaku closer to the edge. He buried his grunts and groans in Lelouch's mouth, buried his grief and rage deep in his heart and just felt the bony, too-thin body against his and tightened his hand around the other's throat as he came hard, head spinning and skin crawling.
His hand fell away from Lelouch's throat as he sagged against the wall. Suzaku tilted his head back slightly as the angle of the kiss changed. Lelouch's eyes slid closed as he nuzzled Suzaku's mouth, and the knight let his close as well, finally. A meaningless offer of safety, and an equally meaningless acceptance.
They were so deeply into this together -- bound tighter than Lelouch and his witch, tighter than Suzaku and his guilt -- that risk and sanctuary hardly meant anything anymore.
